The Civil Aviation Administration approves the naming of the newly built Republic Airport as Hainan State Republic Airport.

Recently, the Ministry of Civil Affairs official website issued a notice on the naming of the Hainan Prefecture Republic Airport, approved by the Civil Aviation Administration of China. The new airport is named Hainan Prefecture Republic Airport. According to the Regulations on the Administration of Geographical Names, this announcement is hereby made. The announcement indicates that Hainan Prefecture Republic Airport is located at the border of Qabqa Town and Twentieth Township in Republic County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. It extends from Gasi Village in Qabqa Town to Twentieth Village in Twentieth Township, south to Qushna Village and Yangrang Village in Twentieth Township, and north to Lalang Village in Twentieth Township. Public information shows that the Hainan Prefecture Republic Airport project is located in the northwest side of Republic County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. It is planned and designed as a Class 4C airport with a passenger throughput of 450,000, a cargo and mail throughput of 650 tons, and 5000 aircraft movements by 2030. The new terminal building covers an area of 6,300 square meters and includes a control tower and supporting auxiliary production facilities.
