According to the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller data, housing prices in the United States increased by 1.18% year-on-year in January, slightly below the estimated median increase of 1.38%. Eleven economists predicted a range of increase between 1% and 1.6%, with the previous value revised from a year-on-year increase of 1.38% to 1.43%. After adjusting for seasonal factors, the 20-city housing price index rose by 0.16% month-on-month in January, down from the previous increase of 0.5%. The national house price index increased by 0.91% year-on-year, down from 1.13% in the previous period. The report noted, "Price levels remain high, but the rate of increase has clearly slowed down."
