Nine departments: By 2028, the core industry of the Internet of Things will surpass 3.5 trillion yuan in scale.

On March 31st, according to Sina Finance, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other nine departments recently jointly issued the "Action Plan for Promoting the Innovation and Development of the Internet of Things Industry," clearly stating that through promoting innovation and upgrading of Internet of Things devices, improving the efficiency of Internet of Things platform services, cultivating Internet of Things application scenarios, solidifying the Internet of Things network foundation, and creating an ecosystem for the development of Internet of Things industry, five major measures will be taken to promote the innovation and development of the Internet of Things industry, further accelerating the comprehensive integration of Internet of Things technology into various fields of production, consumption, and social governance, promoting the deep integration of digital economy and real economy, and assisting in the development of new quality productive forces. The "Action Plan" proposes that by 2028, new technologies, products, and models of the Internet of Things will continue to emerge, the industrial innovation capability will continue to strengthen, breakthroughs will be made in key technologies such as perception, network and communication, data processing, security, and the level of intelligence of terminals and platforms will significantly improve. More than 50 advanced and applicable standards will be formulated or revised, 10 application areas with billion-level connections and 15 with tens of millions of connections will be fostered and created, the number of connections of Internet of Things terminals will strive to reach a scale of billions, and the core industry of the Internet of Things will break through a scale of 3.5 trillion yuan.
