China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation: The first engineering application of large-diameter cylindrical storage tank structure in China was realized on Long March II rocket.

On March 30th, Zhang Yanrui, the deputy chief engineer of Long March No. 2 carrier rocket at China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation, told reporters that both the first and second stage storage tanks of the Long March No. 2 carrier rocket use a cylindrical storage tank structure. This is the first engineering application of a large-diameter cylindrical storage tank structure in China. The material of the second stage storage tank is 2219 aluminum alloy, and the material of the first stage storage tank is 5A06 aluminum alloy.
