Sina Finance reported on March 30th that the Panxi Ultra-high Voltage AC Project has officially started construction. This is the first ultra-high voltage AC transmission and transformation project started by State Grid during the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period, which will further solidify the foundation of power grid security and supply, serve the construction of a new type of power system, and promote the high-quality development of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle. The total investment of the Panxi Ultra-high Voltage AC Project is approximately 23.2 billion yuan. It will pass through 12 counties in 3 cities including Liangshan, Yibin, and Leshan, construct two 1000 kV substations in Panxi and Chuannan, expand the Tianfu South 1000 kV substation, and build a new line with a total length of 994 kilometers. The project is expected to be completed and put into operation by 2028, with an annual maximum transmission capacity of approximately 18.2 billion kilowatt-hours, equivalent to replacing about 5.88 million tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 14.46 million tons. After the completion of this project, it will effectively open up the power transmission channel, significantly enhance the capacity of Panxi clean energy to be transmitted to the Chengdu Plain and the load center of Chuannan.
