Trump makes a blunder again: deceased Toyota president to invest 100 billion dollars?
Sina Finance reported on March 30th that US President Trump's "off-the-cuff remarks" have added new humor. According to IBTimes, at the 11th cabinet meeting on March 26, 2026, Trump once again boasted of his role in facilitating a huge investment by Japan's Toyota Motor Corporation in the US, and mistakenly referred to Toyota's 69-year-old chairman, Akio Toyoda, as the "owner who is around 92 years old." However, the "92-year-old owner" he mistook for is actually Akio Toyoda's father, who passed away in 2023. More ironically, the $10 billion investment commitment that Trump mentioned had already been publicly refuted by Toyota when he first claimed it.
