Setting a world record, our country successfully developed a 35.6 Tesla all-superconducting user magnet.
On the afternoon of March 29, the press conference of the special session of the 2026 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Meeting was held, releasing multiple technological achievements. Among them, the "world's highest magnetic field all superconducting user magnet" was selected. In January of this year, the all-superconducting user magnet jointly developed by the Institute of Electrical Engineering and the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences successfully achieved a central magnetic field intensity of 35.6 Tesla, which is the highest magnetic field strength in the world in this field. This marks that China has reached an international advanced level in the application of high-temperature superconductors, providing technical support for material science, life science, nuclear fusion research, and other fields.
