The second international airport in the capital region of India has been officially put into operation.

The second international airport in the New Delhi region, the Noida International Airport, officially commenced operation on the 28th, with an estimated initial annual passenger throughput of 12 million. Located in Jewar in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, approximately 75 kilometers from the city center of New Delhi, the first phase of the project includes a 3900-meter runway and a terminal building with an investment of approximately 112 billion rupees. According to Indian media, the initial annual passenger throughput of the airport is estimated at 12 million, with potential to grow to 70 million in the future. The airport also has cargo handling capabilities, with an initial estimated throughput of 250,000 tons. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the airport's inauguration ceremony on the 28th. He expressed hope that the new airport will become an important gateway connecting the capital with the surrounding areas, as well as promoting economic development in the western region of Uttar Pradesh, bringing more opportunities for local farmers, small businesses, and young people.
