The State Council Food Safety Office and the General Administration of Market Supervision have called on the leaders of relevant local municipal governments to supervise and rectify the issues exposed in the "3.15" evening gala.

Recently, the State Council Food Safety Office held talks with the government officials of Chengdu City, Chongqing City Hechuan District regarding the food safety issues exposed in the 2026 CCTV "3.15" evening show, urging local authorities to crack down on illegal activities in accordance with the law, deeply analyze the root causes of the problems, identify weak links in their work, draw connections with other similar issues, take effective measures to rectify the situation, and ensure the safety of people's "taste buds". The State Administration for Market Regulation also held talks with government officials of Hangzhou City, Wenzhou City, Suzhou City, Zhengzhou City, and Shenyang City regarding other related issues exposed in the evening show. The talks pointed out that the fundamental reason for the issues exposed in the CCTV "3.15" evening show is that some producers and operators have not effectively fulfilled their responsibilities, and it also revealed that in some areas, local management responsibilities are not being properly fulfilled, there is inadequate capacity to identify problems, and shortcomings in daily supervision and inspection. The talks required relevant local governments to deeply understand the extreme importance of food safety work and maintaining market order, effectively enhance their sense of responsibility, urgency, and mission, rigorously implement the "Four Strictest Requirements," thoroughly investigate the issues exposed in the evening show in accordance with the law, maintain a high-pressure stance on severe punishment; vigorously ensure the implementation of responsibilities, strictly hold relevant responsible units and individuals accountable according to regulations, discipline, and laws, carry out solid "double investigations" ; deeply learn lessons from the problems, draw connections with other issues and carry out thorough rectification, strengthen supervision in the entire chain and all areas, improve risk prevention and resolution mechanisms, resolutely prevent similar issues from happening again, effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of consumers, and strive to create a safe and trusted consumer environment.
