Since 2026, the number of inbound and outbound passengers at Shanghai ports has been continuously increasing. According to statistics from the Shanghai Immigration General Station, as of 9:00 on March 28, the total number of inbound and outbound passengers inspected by the Shanghai Immigration Authority has exceeded 10 million, an increase of 2.9% compared to the previous year. The traffic of inbound and outbound passengers at Shanghai ports is showing a hot trend of "two-way travel", with approximately 5.055 million outbound passengers and approximately 4.945 million inbound passengers, an increase of 2.6% and 3.3% respectively compared to the previous year. With the continuous improvement of the "value" of Chinese passports, mainland residents' enthusiasm for cross-border travel is soaring. Since the beginning of this year, Shanghai immigration authorities have inspected over 6.075 million mainland residents entering and leaving the country, averaging about 70,000 people per day.
