Three departments remind that "RMB version" spirit money cannot be sold or used.

Today, the People's Bank of China, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, and the State Administration for Market Regulation announced 5 typical cases of illegal production and sale of "RMB version" paper offerings. These cases include a printing and wholesaling case in Huaian, Jiangsu, a trading company case in Weinan, Shaanxi, a paper company case in Shangqiu, Henan, an illegal sale case in Liaoyuan, Jilin, and a funeral service case in Xining, Qinghai. The so-called "RMB version" paper offerings refer to paper offerings that use or imitate the complete design of RMB currently in circulation or out of circulation, including the main images on both sides of RMB such as portraits of individuals. The People's Bank of China stated that the RMB is the legal currency of China, representing the country's economic sovereignty and national credit. According to the "People's Republic of China Regulations on the Administration of the RMB" and the "Measures for the Administration of RMB Design Use," it is prohibited to produce, imitate, buy, or sell RMB designs and to use them on sacrificial items, daily necessities, or tickets.
