China and Nigeria signed a framework agreement for the development of economic partnership relations.

On March 26, during the 14th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao signed the "Framework Agreement for Economic Partnership between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria" with the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment of Nigeria, Otudovali. This is the 34th framework agreement signed by China with an African country. The "Framework Agreement" stipulates that both sides will jointly promote the development of Nigeria's national manufacturing industry and agricultural transformation and upgrade, enhance global market competitiveness, help it better integrate into the global economy, and negotiate in the areas of liberalization and facilitation of goods and services trade, strengthening green development cooperation, investment, and digital trade. The signing of the "Framework Agreement" is an important measure to implement the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Party Central Committee and the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. It is another important achievement of bilateral economic and trade cooperation between China and Nigeria, and will help establish long-term, stable, and predictable institutional guarantees for trade and investment between China and Nigeria.
