Robert Kupman, former chief economist of the World Trade Organization and professor at American University, who is currently attending the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference in 2026, recently told Xinhua News Agency that Asian countries uphold the principle of multilateralism. They effectively integrate supply chains and fragmented production through regional economic integration, enabling developing countries in the region to integrate into the global supply chain and making Asia the fastest-growing region in the world. "Asia provides a good example for other parts of the world," Kupman said. Compared to other regions, he believes that Asian economic development is presenting a different picture. He emphasized that honest and transparent dialogue is an important experience for Asian development, and finding ways that all parties can agree on through dialogue is a prerequisite for taking common action.
