The State Council Information Office held a press conference to introduce the situation of accelerating the establishment of a long-term care insurance system, and answered questions from reporters. Wang Wenjun, deputy director of the National Medical Insurance Administration, introduced that from the start of the trial operation of the long-term care insurance system in 2016, it has been exactly 10 years now. During these 10 years, the establishment of the system has gone through the process of "trial operation - evaluation - trial operation again - evaluation again - full-scale rollout". The trial operation of the system has achieved positive results, with the coverage expanding from the initial 15 regions in 2016 to 92 regions by the end of 2025, covering a population of 308 million. The cumulative expenditure of the fund has exceeded 100 billion yuan, providing care services support for over 3.3 million disabled individuals and alleviating the burden on families. The 10-year trial has paved the way for the nationwide comprehensive rollout of the system and accumulated experience.
