Fujian releases the first batch of landmark achievements in the construction of a demonstration zone for integrated development across the Taiwan Strait.
The Fujian Provincial Government Information Office held the eighth news conference series today to implement the "Opinions of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council on Supporting Fujian to Explore the Construction of a New Path for the Integrated Development of the Two Sides of the Taiwan Strait and Building Demonstrative Areas for the Integrated Development of the Two Sides of the Taiwan Strait", authorizing the release of the first batch of landmark achievements in the construction of a demonstrative area for the integrated development of the two sides of the Taiwan Strait. By December 2025, Fujian Province has successively issued 5 batches of 74 measures to promote the integration of Taiwan province and Taiwan, organizing the implementation of 206 key projects for the integration of Fujian and Taiwan, with a total investment of over 1.3 trillion yuan, and the policy support system has initially taken shape. The landmark achievements released this time cover policies, projects, and platforms totaling 17 items: in the facilitation of the lives of Taiwanese compatriots and digital services. Fujian initiated the first "homeland" service platform for Taiwanese compatriots and Taiwan-funded companies. By December 2025, the platform has gathered more than 3,200 pieces of cross-strait information, more than 260 relevant policies concerning Taiwan, and has been visited over 2.65 million times, with Taiwanese compatriots handling 15,000 government affairs through the platform. In terms of regional integration and infrastructure construction, the Xiamen-Jinmen and Fuzhou-Matsu "city life circles" have been steadily promoted. The Xiamen-Jinmen "small three links" passenger route transported 1.74 million passengers in 2025, an increase of 38.84% year-on-year; the Fuzhou-Matsu "small three links" route transported over 98,800 passengers, an increase of 51.2% year-on-year. In addition, the Fujian-Kinmen water supply project has been operational for over 7 years, supplying over 46 million tons of water to Kinmen, accounting for 81.9% of Kinmen's daily water consumption. In terms of industrial cooperation and vocational qualification recognition, Fujian has increased the number of Taiwan farmers' entrepreneurship parks to 14, achieving full coverage in nine cities and one area in the province, with a total of 1,176 Taiwan-funded agricultural projects introduced. The "Cross-Strait Vocational Qualification Integration Service Center" established in Pingtan has confirmed 189 projects that Taiwan can recognize, and the service network covers regions such as Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and the Yangtze River Delta. In terms of sports exchange and innovation, the Fujian Sea Sharks baseball team, officially established in April 2024 as the mainland's first joint team from both sides of the strait to participate in national-level sports events, achieved fifth place in the 15th National Games, creating a historic achievement. By the end of 2025, Fujian had completed the construction of 200 "Fujian-Taiwan baseball-linked schools," with over 380,000 students participating.
