The US government has exempted summer gasoline sales restrictions in order to alleviate the surge in oil prices during the Iran war. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued an emergency waiver to lift the sales restrictions on E15 blended gasoline containing 15% ethanol. Authorities had originally limited the sale of E15 gasoline from June to September to reduce air pollution. The EPA also issued a waiver to eliminate all federal-level barriers to the sale of E10 gasoline, which is a blend fuel containing 10% ethanol. These waivers will take effect on May 1st.
