Chongqing legislation promotes the development of the hot pot industry.

The 22nd meeting of the Standing Committee of the 6th Chongqing Municipal People's Congress voted to approve the "Regulations on the Promotion of Chongqing Hot Pot Industry Development", which will be implemented from May 1st this year. This is the first local regulation on the hot pot industry in China. In response to issues such as the lack of standardization and weak innovation capabilities in the hot pot industry, the regulations support the promotion of innovation in ingredients, dishes, and business models, support adjusting flavors according to local dietary habits, and provide technical support for expanding domestic and foreign markets. The regulations also specify the establishment of a sound talent training system, conduct training for "hot pot chefs" and professional skills levels. The regulations also stipulate strengthening the standard system construction, promoting the formulation and improvement of standards for food materials, production techniques, flavor types, spiciness, and numbness. Construct a full industry chain development system, promote the development of the hot pot industry from decentralized operation to clustered, scaled, and standardized development.
