On March 25, the General Office and the State Council released the "Opinions on Accelerating the Establishment of a Long-Term Care Insurance System", which clearly establishes a long-term care insurance system that is tailored to China's basic national conditions, covers the entire population, coordinates urban and rural areas, ensures fairness, safety, and sustainability. The long-term care insurance system provides services or financial support for basic living care for disabled persons and closely related medical care, and it is an important part of China's social security system and a key component of the national strategy to actively respond to an aging population. The opinions make deployment in areas such as establishing coordinated urban and rural policy systems, establishing stable and sustainable funding mechanisms, implementing fair and appropriate treatment guarantees, and establishing scientific and standardized management and operation mechanisms.
