China Hydrogen Energy Alliance, Yu Zhuoping: By the end of the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the cost of hydrogen for transportation is expected to be comparable to that of fuel.

At the end of the "15th Five-Year Plan", the cost of hydrogen for domestic terminals is expected to drop to below 25 yuan per kilogram, equivalent to the cost of fuel; the cost of industrial gas is basically the same as that of hydrogen produced from natural gas." On March 25, at the 2026 International Hydrogen Energy Conference and Forum on the development of the hydrogen energy industry during the "15th Five-Year Plan", Director Yu Zhuoping of the China Hydrogen Energy Alliance's Expert Committee predicted.
