Shanxi unconventional natural gas production in the first two months increased by more than 20%.

Reporters learned from the Shanxi Provincial Bureau of Statistics on March 25th that the unconventional natural gas production in Shanxi in the first two months of this year reached 32.8 billion cubic meters, an increase of 20.2% year-on-year, setting a new historical high for production during the same period. Unconventional natural gas refers to natural gas that has significant differences in its underground occurrence and accumulation from conventional natural gas reserves, including shale gas, tight sandstone gas, and coalbed methane. It is estimated that the total predicted resources of unconventional natural gas in Shanxi Province are about 20 trillion cubic meters.
