Xu Sunqing, former deputy party secretary and deputy chairman of Shanghai Oriental Hub Investment Construction Development Group Co., Ltd., was sentenced to nine years and six months in the first instance.

The reporter learned from the First Intermediate People's Court of Shanghai that on the 25th, the court publicly sentenced Xu Sunqing, former deputy secretary of the Party Committee and vice-chairman of Shanghai Oriental Hub Investment Construction and Development Group Co., Ltd., for bribery. The defendant Xu Sunqing was sentenced to nine years and six months in prison for the crime of bribery, and fined 1 million yuan. Illegal gains and interest obtained will be recovered according to law and turned over to the national treasury. After trial and investigation, it was found that from 2007 to 2025, the defendant Xu Sunqing took advantage of his positions as deputy district mayor of Jing'an District, Shanghai, vice president, president, and chairman of Shanghai Shenjiang Development and Investment Co., Ltd., vice president of Shanghai Real Estate Co., Ltd., and deputy secretary of the Party Committee and vice chairman of Shanghai Oriental Hub Investment Construction and Development Group Co., Ltd., to provide assistance and seek benefits for relevant units and individuals in matters such as undertaking projects, leasing operating premises, and purchasing real estate, illegally accepting a total of more than 10.14 million yuan in bribes.
