Famous economist Ba Shusong taken away by investigating authorities in suspected illegal fundraising case.

According to Economic Observer, well-known economist, chief economist of the China Banking Association, and senior consultant of the HSBC Financial Research Institute at Peking University, Ba Shusong, is suspected of being involved in an illegal fundraising case and was taken away by authorities around March 12, 2026.
