Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics: New Achievements in Urban Governance
On March 25, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics and the Beijing Survey Team of the National Bureau of Statistics released the "Beijing 2025 National Economic and Social Development Statistics Bulletin". The bulletin shows that in 2025, Beijing will add 1000 kilometers of greenways throughout the year. The per capita green space in parks will be 17.3 square meters, 3 new subway lines will be opened during the year, and the interchange ratio between buses and rail within 50 meters will reach 91%. The urban living environment will become more beautiful and livable.
The orderly promotion of urban renewal will continue, with 604 old residential areas in the city being renovated and 1225 new residential areas completed. The "hundred thousand projects" will be pushed forward, with a total of 42 demonstration villages and 22 demonstration areas created by the end of the year, beautifying over 5000 households' courtyards, advancing 32 urban village renovation projects, and continuously improving the living environment in rural areas.
The construction of the garden city will be accelerated, with 1000 kilometers of new greenways added throughout the year. The urban greening coverage rate will be 49.97%, and the coverage rate of parks and green spaces within a 500-meter radius will reach 93%, with a per capita park green space of 17.3 square meters.
The "0.1 microgram" battle will be carried out, with the annual average concentration of PM2.5 breaking through "30" for the first time. Numerous indicators of air quality have reached their best levels since monitoring began. Water resource security will be strengthened, with a total storage capacity of large and medium-sized reservoirs reaching 44.19 billion cubic meters by the end of the year, an increase of 0.15 billion cubic meters from the previous year, and the continuous rise of groundwater levels in plain areas.
Urban transportation will become greener and more efficient, with a total road length of 22,610 kilometers by the end of the year, an increase of 50.7 kilometers from the previous year. Three new subway lines will be opened during the year, adding 30 kilometers of operational mileage. There will be 30 operating rail transit lines with a total length of 909 kilometers, ranking first in the country. 242 bus routes will be optimized, with a total of 1,252 public bus and trolleybus routes and a total operating route length of 28,928.8 kilometers. The interchange ratio between buses and rail within 50 meters will reach 91%, and the proportion of green travel in the central city area will increase to 76.5%.
Basic urban living guarantees will be further strengthened, with a total of 12.97 billion cubic meters of water sold throughout the year, a 0.2% increase from the previous year. The electricity consumption in Beijing reached 1447.5 billion kilowatt-hours, a 4.2% increase. The total area of centralized heating with an area of over 100,000 square meters was 7.7 billion square meters, an increase of 0.8%. The sewage treatment rate for the year was 98.00%, an increase of 0.47 percentage points from the previous year; 7.8973 million tons of household waste were collected and disposed of, averaging 21,600 tons per day.
