Record high! The scale of private equity funds reached 22.6 trillion yuan at the end of February.

The data disclosed by the China Securities Investment Fund Industry Association on March 24th showed that as of the end of February this year, there were 19,129 surviving private fund managers, managing a total of 140,263 funds with a total fund size of 22.60 trillion yuan. This is a new record for the surviving private fund scale, following the consecutive historical peak total scale of 22.05 trillion yuan in October, 22.09 trillion yuan in November, 22.15 trillion yuan in December, and 22.44 trillion yuan in January this year. Specifically, as of the end of February 2026, there were 140,263 surviving private funds with a total fund size of 22.60 trillion yuan. Among them, there were 81,491 surviving private securities investment funds with a total size of 7.35 trillion yuan; 29,898 surviving private equity investment funds with a total size of 11.16 trillion yuan; and 28,119 surviving venture capital funds with a total size of 3.80 trillion yuan.
