Edward Yau: Hong Kong will actively expand its global trade network and strive to join the RCEP.
The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Carrie Lam, stated that in order to promote global development, Hong Kong will make efforts in three main directions in the future: Firstly, actively expand global trade networks and strive to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP); secondly, make good use of Hong Kong's global economic and trade networks, assist mainland Chinese enterprises in going global through the "Mainland Enterprise Outbound Program," and connect global investors with Hong Kong's professional services; thirdly, promote regional economic development and prosperity, fully support the hosting of the 2026 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit by China, and take advantage of the opportunity to host the APEC Finance Ministers' Meeting in Hong Kong to deepen regional cooperation. Hong Kong is willing to complement the advantages of the Hainan Free Trade Port and work together with global partners to build an open and prosperous future.
