CBOT Chicago wheat futures fell after US President Trump said he had decided to delay for five days the military strike against Iranian energy facilities following what he described as "productive" talks with Iran. After Trump posted the news on his social media platform, the most active contract fell 2.2% on Monday. Carlotta De Pasquale, a commodity analyst at Arete Agricultural Food Consulting, said that market prices fell in response to Trump's statement, and the decline in crude oil prices "relieved pressure on the grain and oilseed industries." As of 07:48 Chicago time, wheat prices fell 1.6% to $5.8525 per bushel; corn fell 0.9% and soybean prices remained relatively stable.
