On the 23rd, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) stated that, in light of recent worrying reports of military activities near the Bushehr nuclear power plant in Iran, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi spoke on the phone with the General Director of the Russian state atomic energy corporation, Alexei Likhachev, to receive the latest update. Grossi reiterated that, according to the seven essential pillars safeguarding nuclear safety and security, no military action should jeopardize the physical integrity and safety of nuclear power plants, as well as the safety of the plant's personnel.
