According to the South Korean "Daily Economic News," citing financial regulatory departments and unnamed industry sources, South Korea is set to launch individual stock two times leverage ETFs in May, with the initial targets being Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. The Financial Services Commission of South Korea will release detailed regulations this month, including requirements for the market value and trading volume of the underlying assets, as well as regulations related to derivative hedging. Large institutions such as Samsung Asset Management and Mirae Asset Global Investments are preparing related products. However, in order to prevent excessive speculation and vicious competition, the financial commission may limit each fund manager to issuing only one leveraged ETF for individual stocks.
