Domestic transformers are in high demand overseas, making our country the world's largest producer of transformers.
In recent times, transformer production companies across the country have been running at full capacity, with overseas orders continuously overflowing. Some companies' production tasks have been scheduled as far out as 2027. Why has there suddenly been a surge in global orders for transformers and other power equipment? The answer lies in the huge demand for electricity driven by the development of artificial intelligence. Data shows that the power consumption of a super-large scale AI data center has exceeded 1 gigawatt, equivalent to the peak summer power load of a medium-sized city. Furthermore, AI large models are accelerating from the "training" stage towards the "inference" stage, which means their power consumption is shifting from one-time investment to continuous consumption. Data shows that there are about 3,000 transformer industry companies in China. By 2025, the total export value of transformers reached 64.6 billion yuan, an increase of nearly 36% compared to 2024. China has become the world's largest transformer producer, with evident advantages in raw materials, costs, production cycles, and other aspects.
