Wang Qiuping, spokesperson of the State Administration for Market Regulation and Director of the News and Publicity Department, stated at the regular press conference in the first quarter of 2026 that in response to the illegal issues in the field of market regulation exposed during the "3.15" gala, the State Administration for Market Regulation quickly deployed strict law enforcement measures and conducted investigations, and held interviews and supervision over relevant local governments and market regulation departments to resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of consumers. Currently, various law enforcement actions have made the following phased progress. Regarding the issue of "bleached chicken feet," the State Administration for Market Regulation organized a special task force to conduct surprise inspections of the involved companies, and on-site seized 27 barrels of hydrogen peroxide and 551 boxes of chicken claw products. Regarding the issue of "'universal' extracellular vesicles," the local drug supervision department, together with health, market regulation, and public security departments, formed an inspection team to seize related products on-site. Currently, 4 companies, 3 medical beauty institutions, and medical institutions involved have been investigated according to law. Regarding the issue of "increasing height marketing tricks," the local market regulation departments, together with public security, health, and other departments, conducted verification and disposal, initiating investigations against 11 operating entities, and samples of related products are being sent for inspection. Regarding the issue of "mysterious experts in private domain marketing," the local market regulation departments, together with public security and other departments, conducted on-site inspections, extracting electronic data and key evidence from the companies involved, including false course lectures. Regarding the issue of "the rampant rental of electric bicycles," the local market regulation departments, in collaboration with transportation, public security, and other departments, conducted on-site inspections, extracted rental contracts and live streaming electronic data of the involved operating entities, fixed evidence such as electric bicycles' license plates and registration certificates, and urged platforms to close down illegal accounts. Regarding the issue of "who is poisoning AI," the local market regulation departments, in conjunction with public security departments, conducted on-site inspections of the companies involved, with the public security department initiating an investigation. Next, the State Administration for Market Regulation will continue to work with relevant departments to thoroughly investigate and rectify illegal activities. Their attitude is: no problem will be overlooked until fully understood, and no corrective measures will be neglected until properly implemented. The market regulation departments will respond to social concerns with practical actions and strengthen consumer safety defenses.
