On March 19th local time, Blue Origin, a company owned by the founder of Amazon, Bezos, submitted a proposal to the Federal Communications Commission to build a space data center. The proposal indicates that Blue Origin plans to deploy over 50,000 satellites in space. Analysts point out that if this project is approved, it will be a key step for Blue Origin to transition from a launch rocket service provider to an orbit infrastructure service provider, and competition in the global space economy will intensify. It is reported that in January of this year, Blue Origin announced the launch of a satellite internet project called "TeraWave", aiming to provide high-speed data connection services to global enterprise users at up to 6 terabits per second through a multi-orbit network composed of thousands of satellites, far surpassing SpaceX's Starlink.
