"Zero Waste Park" "Zero Waste Enterprise" Construction Standard Seminar Held in Beijing

In order to implement the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, and promote the construction of "zero waste" in the industrial sector, on March 18, 2026, the Energy Conservation and Comprehensive Utilization Department's guiding support agency held a seminar on the construction standards of "zero waste parks" and "zero waste enterprises" in Beijing. Relevant industry associations, universities, research institutions, and company representatives attended the meeting. The meeting pointed out that promoting the transformation of industrial production processes to "zero waste" is of great significance for improving the level of industrial resource utilization and protecting the ecological environment. Researching and formulating general requirements for the construction of "zero waste parks" and "zero waste enterprises" will help guide industrial parks and companies to implement "zero waste" production methods in practice, promote the reduction of solid waste at the source, reduce the intensity of solid waste generation, and improve the efficiency of resource utilization. At the meeting, relevant comrades from the Energy Conservation and Comprehensive Utilization Department introduced the background and considerations of the construction of "zero waste" in the industrial sector, and the China Electronics Technology Standardization Institute introduced the development of the general requirements for the construction of "zero waste parks" and "zero waste enterprises". Experts, scholars, and company representatives provided opinions and suggestions on the standard content. Next, the Energy Conservation and Comprehensive Utilization Department will accelerate the formulation of general requirements for the construction of "zero waste parks" and "zero waste enterprises", using standards to guide key waste-producing industries to implement "zero waste" production methods, and to contribute to the green and sustainable development of the industry.
