The Anhui-Hubei Power Interconnection Project started today.
The reporter learned from the State Grid that the Anhui-Hubei Power Mutual Assistance Project officially commenced today in Anqing, Anhui Province. Once completed, it will become a flexible power mutual assistance hub between Anhui and Hubei. The Anhui-Hubei Power Mutual Assistance Project is the first DC project to commence during the "11th Five-Year Plan" in China, with a total investment of approximately 45.8 billion yuan. The project will build a new 260 kV flexible DC converter station with a rated capacity of 3 million kilowatts. Once completed, the power grids of Anhui and Hubei will achieve "unimpeded communication" through this converter station. When one side is in need of electricity, the other side can quickly support through this channel, effectively improving the peak load complementarity and emergency mutual assistance capabilities between the two provinces, making power dispatching more flexible and reliable.
