From the National Mass Sports Work Conference in 2026, it was learned that by the end of 2025, there were a total of 5.037 million sports venues nationwide, with a total area of 4.372 billion square meters, and an average of 3.11 square meters per person. The Sixth National Physical Fitness Monitoring and National Fitness Activity Status Survey showed that by 2025, the proportion of people nationwide reaching the "qualified" level or above was 84.9%, an increase of 0.8 percentage points from 2020. In 2025, the country supported the construction of small fitness centers, small sports parks, community ice skating rinks, county-level multi-functional sports fields, as well as the maintenance, renovation, and updating of fitness equipment in rural areas, with a total of 6,719 projects. By the end of 2025, the "National Ball into Communities, National Ball into Parks" activities had covered a cumulative total of 38,000 ping pong tables and 135,000 other fitness facilities, covering over 20,000 communities and more than 5,000 parks. Around 14,000 national fitness events were held around the "National Ball Two In" activities, attracting over 1.3 million participants. In 2025, the General Administration of Sport of China, along with the Ministry of Finance, allocated financial resources to support free or low-cost opening of public sports venues, subsidizing 3,370 venues, covering more than 1,400 counties nationwide. According to statistics, these venues provided free or low-cost access to over 26 million square meters of space. By the end of 2025, over 1,500 sports parks had been completed and put into use during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, achieving the target tasks outlined in the "14th Five-Year Plan" Outline for the construction of around 1,000 new sports parks. In 2025, the 15th National Games for Mass Sports lasted for nine months, with 23 major events and 166 sub-events, and a total of 6,819 preliminary matches were held in 54 competition areas across 20 provinces, with 16,556 athletes participating. The finals were held in 14 cities in Guangdong province, as well as in Hong Kong and Macau Special Administrative Regions, with 11,000 "amateur athletes" competing. The National Online Fitness Games, which had been held for four consecutive years, had organized over 500 events, with a total of over 58.61 million participants, adapting to the new trends in internet development, providing convenient services to the public through online sports, and achieving good results.
