The Dow Jones fell 0.7% at the opening, the S&P 500 fell 0.9%, and the Nasdaq fell 1.2%.

Copper futures fell, copper mining stocks also dropped simultaneously, with Southern Copper and Freeport-McMoRan both falling by 5%, Rio Tinto falling by 6%, and BHP Group falling by 4%. Micron Technology fell by 6.2%, with Q2 revenue nearly doubling, but high expenditure plans causing concern. Rivian rose by 7.5%, with Uber investing $1.25 billion in it to launch 50,000 self-driving rental cars. Nebius fell by 3.2%, with the convertible bond issue size increasing to $4 billion. Alibaba fell by 7.8%, with Q3 net profit plummeting by 67%, and Taobao's flash sale becoming a "drag".
