According to data released by the State Administration for Market Regulation, in 2025, China conducted a total of 190 automobile recalls, involving 6.846 million vehicles, representing a decrease of 18.5% and 39.1% compared to the previous year. There were 105 recalls of new energy vehicles, involving 2.652 million vehicles, accounting for 38.7% of the total recalls for the year. There were 13 recalls for remote upgrades, involving 1.756 million vehicles, accounting for 25.7% of the total recalls for the year. Under the supervision and urging of the State Administration for Market Regulation, 55 recalls were conducted, involving 2.934 million vehicles, accounting for 42.9% of the total recalls for the year. By the end of 2025, China had conducted a total of 3,265 automobile recalls, involving 121 million vehicles.
