Market research company Counterpoint released data on Thursday showing that the overall smartphone market in China declined by 4% year-on-year in the first quarter from January to March. Apple's smartphone sales in China grew by 23% in the first nine weeks of this year. The Counterpoint report mentioned that Apple's high degree of control over its supply chain allows it to better withstand the impact of rising memory chip costs compared to its competitors. It is expected that Apple will maintain its current pricing while competitors increase prices.
