On the 18th, the US National Intelligence Director Gabard said that after the US bombed Iran's nuclear facilities in June last year, Iran did not attempt to rebuild its uranium enrichment capabilities. She declined to comment on whether Iran's nuclear program posed an "imminent threat" to the US. Gabard attended the annual hearing of the Senate Intelligence Committee on "global security threats" that the US faces on the same day. In a written statement published on the committee's website, she wrote that the US had destroyed Iran's uranium enrichment project, and Iran had not attempted to rebuild its uranium enrichment capabilities afterwards. A report by the National Broadcasting Company pointed out that this appeared to be contradictory to the White House's justification for going to war with Iran.
