European stock indices closed mixed.

The European Stoxx 600 index fell by 0.7%. The UK's FTSE 100 index dropped by 0.97%, Germany's DAX index fell by 0.86%, France's CAC 40 index remained unchanged, and Spain's IBEX index increased by 0.26%.
