Recently, reporters visited multiple brand stores to understand that, affected by the sharp increase in upstream memory prices, the previously rumored "price increase of mobile phones" is beginning to happen. In addition to OPPO, vivo, and other brands that have already announced price adjustments, other brands also have plans or expectations to increase prices. Overall, the prices of low-end phones of various brands have increased by 200-500 yuan, while the prices of new high-end models have increased by about 1000 yuan. However, some low-end phone prices have not increased. Industry insiders told reporters that the current price increase of some low-end phones is not enough to cover the increase in costs. Manufacturers mainly producing mid-to-low-end products are still in a difficult situation and may face losses in the short term. Faced with the sharp increase in memory chip prices, mobile phone manufacturers are changing their stocking strategies on one hand and shifting their strategic focus to high-priced products on the other hand. Upstream component manufacturers have started to shift resources to other production lines such as wearables and smart home products, which have smaller storage requirements.
