Multiple airlines have raised fuel surcharges on international routes, with Hong Kong Airlines increasing them twice in one week.

With the soaring oil prices, multiple airlines have announced increases in international fuel surcharges. On March 17, the official website of Xiamen Airlines issued a warm reminder stating that due to adjustments in international fuel prices, the fuel surcharge for routes between China and Southeast Asian countries will be adjusted starting from March 20, 2026. On March 10, Hong Kong Airlines Limited announced an increase in fuel surcharges for all routes starting from March 12, with a maximum one-way increase of 150 Hong Kong dollars. On March 17, Hong Kong Airlines issued another notice stating that fuel surcharges will be increased again on the 18th: short-haul flights from Hong Kong to Asia will increase from 212 Hong Kong dollars to 290 Hong Kong dollars; long-haul flights to Europe, America, Africa, and the Middle East will increase from 739 Hong Kong dollars to 1164 Hong Kong dollars.
