A reporter asked about the situation of nearly a hundred Taiwanese nationals who had been stranded in the Middle East for several days and were successfully evacuated with the assistance of Chinese embassies and consulates abroad, and then transferred through Shanghai back to Taiwan. Many of the assisted Taiwanese nationals expressed their gratitude to the motherland, saying that it was the mainland that helped them return home. However, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities claimed that these individuals were not stranded in a war-torn area in the Middle East and had not received any notifications, suggesting that it could be a mainland "perception war." The Chinese Consulate General in Istanbul coordinated with relevant parties to assist 93 Taiwanese nationals in taking a mainland flight to Shanghai, where they were promptly issued Taiwanese compatriot travel documents and helped them smoothly transit back to Taiwan. Additionally, many Taiwanese nationals sought assistance through the Chinese consular app, the 12308 consular hotline, etc. Our embassy in Israel, consulate general in Dubai, and other embassies and consulates abroad assisted Taiwanese nationals to return to Taiwan or relocate to safe areas. The assisted Taiwanese nationals expressed gratitude, feeling that the motherland is always there for them and experiencing the closeness between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait.
