On March 17, it was learned from the National Copyright Administration that the total number of copyright registrations in China reached 10,677,043 in 2025, an increase of 0.44% compared to the previous year. The registration data shows that a total of 3,182,829 computer software copyrights were registered in 2025, an increase of 12.58% year-on-year, showing a rapid growth trend overall. The registrations are mainly distributed in the eastern region, with about 1.82 million registrations, accounting for 57% of the total registrations. In 2025, the overall registration volume of copyright works in the country slightly decreased, with Beijing, Fujian, Shandong, and Guizhou having the highest registration volumes. Compared to 2024, Liaoning's registration volume for copyright works grew by over 100%, while Tianjin, Shanxi, Henan, Guangxi, Hainan, Ningxia, and Xinjiang had registration volume growth rates of over 50%. In terms of the type of works, the most registered are fine art works, accounting for 63.60% of the total registrations, followed by photography works, literary works, and film and television works.
