Yu Minhong: The ultimate goal of developing robots is to serve humans, not to replace them.

On March 17, at the opening ceremony of the 2026 Yabuli Forum Annual Conference, Yu Minhong, Chairman of New Oriental Education & Technology Group, delivered the opening speech. He mentioned that placing his speech after Wang Xing was to compare the status of the new generation and old generation entrepreneurs. He also joked that he has had some interactions with Wang Xing and wondered if Wang Xing has ever taken classes at New Oriental. He mentioned that technology is constantly developing, with much discussion on whether robots and artificial intelligence can replace human labor, or even humans themselves. "I think all developments, whether it's artificial intelligence or the development of robot like Wang Xing just talked about, actually have one ultimate purpose, which is to serve people."
