Today, Apple's Chief Operating Officer Sabih Khan and other executives visited the Apple Application Research Lab in the Shenzhen Futian Free Trade Zone in the morning. The lab, which will be operational in 2024, is Apple's newest application research lab in China. The lab is located near Apple's important production and assembly base in China, allowing it to closely collaborate with nearly 200 surrounding supplier partners. The turnaround time for samples between suppliers and the Shenzhen Application Research Lab can be as fast as one day. It is reported that Apple executives will also visit multiple supply chain manufacturers located in Shenzhen, marking the first visit by Apple executives to China in 2026 (21st Century Business Herald).
