According to a report by the Financial Times citing Peter Malipuszczak, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure in Poland, the high-speed rail project connecting Poland with the Baltic countries may be delayed by nearly 10 years. Malipuszczak currently estimates that the entire line will be completed by 2040, instead of the original target of 2030. Reasons for the delay include insufficient funding, EU technical requirements, and rising construction costs. Marcin Kierwla, CEO of the joint venture company "Rail Baltica" responsible for overseeing the project in the Baltic countries, stated that the construction plan is still progressing according to the 2030 target.
