Beijing: Consumer prices rose by 0.8% year-on-year in January and February.
According to data from the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics, in January-February, the consumer price index of Beijing residents increased by 0.8% year-on-year. Among them, the prices of consumer goods rose by 1.1%, and the prices of services rose by 0.6%. In the eight major categories of goods and services, prices of other supplies and services, daily necessities and services, clothing, medical care, food, tobacco, alcohol, and dining out all increased by 14.5%, 3.3%, 1.4%, 0.6%, 0.6% respectively, while prices in the education, culture, and entertainment category remained unchanged. Prices for housing and transportation and communication decreased by 0.3% and 0.1% respectively. In February, the consumer price index rose by 1.4% year-on-year and 0.9% month-on-month. In January-February, the producer price index of industrial producers in Beijing decreased by 2.1% year-on-year and the purchase price index decreased by 1.6% year-on-year. In February, the producer price index of industrial producers fell by 2.3% year-on-year and 0.5% month-on-month; the purchase price index fell by 1.4% year-on-year and rose by 0.3% month-on-month.
