OpenAI will reduce side projects and focus on "doing well" in core business.
According to reports, senior executives at OpenAI are finalizing a major strategic transformation plan, shifting the company's focus back to programming development and enterprise users. They realize that the strategy of "trying to do everything at once" has put the company in a passive position. OpenAI's Chief Operating Officer Fiji Simo previewed this adjustment to employees at an all-hands meeting. She stated that the executive team, including CEO Sam Altman and Chief Scientist Mark Chen, is actively evaluating which business areas will be downgraded. Formal notifications of these changes are expected to be sent to employees in the coming weeks. According to the content of the speech seen by the media, Simo told employees last week, "We cannot afford to miss current opportunities because we are distracted by various side businesses. We must truly excel at productivity tools, especially productivity capabilities for enterprise scenarios."
