On March 12, the Planting Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, together with the National Agricultural Technology Center, held a national on-site meeting on the promotion of spring management, single-crop yield increase, and integrated prevention and control of diseases and pests for winter rapeseed in Tongnan District, Chongqing. The meeting included a demonstration of technologies to increase the yield of winter rapeseed, integrated measures for disease and pest prevention, and on-site processing of rapeseed. Specialized training was conducted on increasing the yield of rapeseed and controlling diseases and pests, while exchanging progress in winter rapeseed production across different regions and deploying key tasks for the next steps. The meeting emphasized that this year marks the beginning of the 14th Five-Year Plan, and localities need to thoroughly implement the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council. It is crucial to understand the significance of stabilizing oilseed production and focus on key aspects of spring field management for winter rapeseed. Precision measures must be taken based on local conditions, implement the "one promotion and four prevention" strategy, and scientific fertilization and regulation, promote the down-to-earth work of agricultural technicians, popularize key technologies, and play a demonstration role to promote the stable growth of rapeseed in spring. The meeting pointed out that rapeseed has entered a crucial period for yield formation, with the possibility of late frosts and continuous rainy weather leading to a high risk of Sclerotinia disease. It is crucial for all regions to enhance their proactive attitude, closely focus on late-stage management, and strive for a bountiful harvest in summer rapeseed production.
