On March 16, the French-based specialty chemical producer Arkema announced a "significant" investment aimed at expanding the production capacity of its polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) plant in Changshu, China by 20%. The new facility is expected to be operational in 2028. The statement noted that the increased capacity is intended to meet the strong and growing demand for PVDF in several key markets, including electric vehicles and energy storage systems, high-performance coatings, chemical processing industries, semiconductor manufacturing, water filtration, and wire and cable applications.
